Thalassa was commissioned by the contemporary music sextet FLYDLPHN. The piece, named after the primordial sea goddess of Greek mythology, follows a brave diver down to the bottom of the ocean and back up. I am eternally grateful to FLYDLPHN for the opportunity to write a piece for this amazing group and for their support during the composition process.
